Check an ONYX1 Office install bundle

Download the Office install bundle and compare its SHA-256 with the value in Settings before starting setup.

Use this page to download an install bundle and check its SHA-256 before setting up a new Office mini. Only an owner or admin can download it from Settings → ONYX1 Office.

Before you start

  • Your workspace must have ONYX1 Office enabled.
  • Keep the downloaded ZIP beside its extracted folder. The launcher needs both to check the bundle.
  • Start the install within 10 minutes. The bundle contains a one-time pairing code that expires, and creating another pairing code replaces it.

Download and check the bundle

  1. In Settings → ONYX1 Office, find Pair the Office mini and select Download install bundle. ONYX1 downloads a ZIP and shows Install bundle SHA-256. If the button is disabled and the page says Office installation and updates are not enabled yet., the bundle is not available yet.
  2. On the Mac mini, unzip the download and keep the original ZIP beside the extracted folder.
  3. On the mini, open New Office.command. It prints ONYX1 install bundle SHA-256 and waits for input. Compare every character with the value in Settings before entering anything. If you are only checking the bundle, close the window without entering a value.
  4. If the values do not match, do not use the bundle. Leave the prompt empty and press Return. The launcher stops before setup and says Bundle check did not match. Nothing was installed or updated.

If the download fails, the page says The install bundle could not be downloaded. Check the Office setup and try again. If you already have an Office mini and need to pair it again, see Pair the Office mini.
