Recurring jobs
Set up a maintenance contract once, then let ONYX1 create each visit as a real job when it's due.
On this pageBefore you start
Recurring jobs are maintenance and inspection contracts that repeat. Set one up once, and ONYX1 generates each visit as a real job when it falls due. Only the owner, admins, dispatchers, office staff and site supervisors can use them.
Before you start
You can start a recurring job two ways. From New job, tick Make this a recurring job and pick how it repeats; see Create a job. Or set up the template directly on the Recurring jobs page, without creating a job straight away.
Set up a template on Recurring jobs
- Open Recurring from the menu.
- Under New recurring job, select the Customer.
- Enter the Job title and, if you want it copied onto every job this template creates, some Notes.
- Choose how often it Repeats: Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly, Quarterly, 6-monthly or Yearly.
- Set the First due date.
- Set the Duration (days) if a visit runs more than one day.
- Select Save recurring job.
Generate the due jobs
ONYX1 checks every night and creates a job for any active template that's due. To create them yourself right now, select Generate due jobs now on the Generate card. It reports how many jobs it created, or Nothing due. if none were.
Manage your templates
The Recurring templates table lists every template with its cadence, next run date, and status (Active or Paused, with a Due badge when it's due now).
- Select Edit to change the customer, title, notes, cadence, first-due date or duration.
- Select Pause to stop a template generating jobs without deleting it, or Resume to turn it back on.
What happens next
Each generated job is a normal job: it appears on the Jobs hub and can be scheduled, assigned and worked like any other. The template itself keeps advancing to its next due date each time it generates a job.
