Request and approve leave

File your own leave request, check your balance, and, if you review leave, approve or decline someone else's.

Anyone can request their own leave. The owner, admins, dispatchers and office also review and approve everyone's.

Your balance

Open Leave. If you build up leave, you'll see Annual leave and Sick leave tiles with the days you have left, and a note under them for your employment type, jurisdiction and leave anniversary. Sick leave vests at 6 months and annual leave at 12, so the two tiles can reach a balance at different times; before a type vests, its tile shows 0 with accruing underneath rather than a running balance. If you're casual or a contractor with no leave entitlement, the page instead shows the days you've taken with no balance beside them.

Request leave

Under Request leave, choose a Type (annual, sick, unpaid or other), an optional reason, and the From and To dates, then select Request leave. Only weekdays count towards the days requested. Your request appears under My requests with a status: pending, approved or rejected.

If you review leave

The owner, admins, dispatchers and office see three extra sections above their own leave:

  • Awaiting approval: every pending request, with who asked, the dates, the days and their reason. Select Approve or Reject. You can't decide your own request; it shows a your request label instead of the buttons.
  • Team leave: everyone's balance at a glance, linking through to their profile.
  • All requests: the full history for the team.

Your own leave sits below these, under its own My leave heading, so it's never mixed in with the team's.

If a decision cannot be recorded, an error appears below Approve and Reject. The request stays pending until a decision is saved, so try again after fixing the problem.
