Your account, password and two-factor authentication
Change your own password, turn on two-factor authentication, and reset your password if you're locked out.
On this pageChoose light or dark
My account holds your own sign-in details, your password and two-factor authentication, and your light or dark setting. Every role can open it and change their own password, whatever else they can reach in ONYX1.
Choose light or dark
Under Appearance on My account, choose Light or Dark. On a phone, and in the iOS and Android apps, you can also choose System, which follows the phone's light or dark setting and changes with it, with no need to reload. System is not offered in a desktop browser. Your choice applies to the device you are using. On a phone, the same Appearance row is at the end of the More menu.
Change your password
- Open My account.
- Under Change password, enter your current password, then your new one twice.
- Select Change password.
Your new password needs at least 8 characters and must be different from your current one. ONYX1 confirms with Password changed. You’ve been signed out everywhere else. Changing your password signs you out of every other device you were signed in on; this one stays signed in.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app each time you sign in, on top of your password.
- Open My account and select Set up 2FA.
- Confirm your password.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, or enter the printed key by hand if you can't scan it.
- Save the recovery codes shown. They're shown once.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app and select Enable 2FA.
If your workspace requires two-factor authentication for everyone, ONYX1 sends you through these same steps before you can open anything else.
Signing in with two-factor on
After your email and password, ONYX1 asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enter it and select Verify. If your phone's clock has drifted, the code may not match; check it's set correctly and try again.
Reset a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?.
- Enter your account email and select Email me a reset link.
- Open the email and follow the link within 1 hour. It works once.
- Set your new password and select Set new password.
ONYX1 shows the same message whether or not the email has an account, so it never reveals which emails are registered. If the link has expired or was already used, request a new one from the same page.
Connect your Microsoft 365
If your workspace has ONYX1 Office, My account also has a Microsoft 365 section. Select Connect Microsoft 365 and sign in to Microsoft with your own work account, which has to use the same email address as your ONYX1 sign-in. Microsoft asks which account to use, and one Microsoft account can be connected to one person in your workspace only. Once connected, the section shows the account and connected. If the connection expires, it shows needs reconnecting and a Reconnect button, and Disconnect removes it at any time. Every role can connect their own account. Nobody else can connect or use it. The owner and admins can see only that you have connected and which account. See Connect your Microsoft 365 for what it allows and what it does not keep.
Delete your account
To close your ONYX1 login altogether, or to ask what we hold about you, see Delete your account and data.
